By reading the Bible we can learn how much god loves us, learn from other people's mistake or success and it can help us to live like its true. one fact that i know why Christians think that the bible is boss because god speaks to us through the bible and we have to obey god because whatever he ask us to do or not to do is for the best of us. some people will say that bible is just a book written by people well that is absolutely right but the writings are all inspired by god and the bible is 100% fact, but of course some people don't believe that the events that is written in the bible is true but there are scientific evidence that supports the fact that the events really happened.
Now let me tell you a story...
So there was this one man he is a very famous beautician. From when he was little all he cared about was being rich and one day at his village he heard one of his neighbor said that he or she would pay for $10 000 for liposuction and that is why he decided to become a beautician. He started up a clinic at first the waiting time 1 week became 2 months and then 3 months. and soon he became very famous. From only 1 doctor he hired more and more doctors until he make a shop at Indonesia to lure some Indonesians to go to his clinic in Singapore. Things were going well for him and the time has come for him. One day he decided to buy a Ferrari and some lands to build himself a house, then some of his close friends asked him to go back to church. He had been a christian for 20 years and he was baptized for 20 years, but it was only because it was fashionable to be one. He does not know what is a Bible. He went to the church only for a while and stopped because he believed that he achieve all his fame and wealth without god so he said, "who needs god?! I myself can achieve anything I want!" Then he told his friends "If god really want me to go back to the church, he will give me a sign" Then bam! after 3 weeks he was back at church.
In between 3 weeks when he was his doing his regular routine at the gym, but suddenly his back hurts a lot so he went to a doctor to have a check up. After he had the check up he found out that he had half his spine had a bone marrow replacement. The next day he had a PET scan and they diagnosed that he had a terminal lung cancer, stage 4B. It had spread to his brain, half his spines and of his lungs liver and adrenals are filled with tumor, he was very confused because none of his family had cancer.
The next day he's still denying the fact that he had cancer he had a check up again and when the doctors and nurses asked him to wait for a minute because they want to check his x ray he heard a small inner voice that he never felt before and it said specifically "This had happened to you at your prime because it is the only way you can understand." Then for the second time it said "This has happened to YOU and YOUR prime time because it is the only way YOU can understand." At that time his emotions just overflowed and he broke down and cried alone there. and he knew then what it means to understand that why this is the only way.
He was having his chemotherapy when the doctor said that he needed Zometa. Zometa is a medicine that can strengthen the bone but it can also cause bone death, he needs to have his wisdom tooth removed and when he was at the dental chair he said to his friend Danny and asked, "Is there any other way to not go through to this?" and he said "Yes, you can pray." So he got nothing to lose and he prayed. When his mouth was x rayed to show where the wisdom teeth was, the doctors saw that the 2 wisdom teeth at the lower jaw which is the one that they were supposed to pull out at the surgery was gone. but he still doesn't believe that that happened because he prayed.
He met his doctor and asked "how much time I have left?" the doctor said he had 3-4 months left. And there was this specific day when it was 2 pm he went to visit his doctor again and he felt peace, love and happiness overflowing his he doesn't know why. then Danny his friend confessed that he fasted for 2 days and bargained with god. and by the time he ended his fast it was 2 pm when he felt the happiness feeling overflowing him. Then he bought the story a little bit.
One day he was at bed struggling in the afternoon asking God, "Why? Why do i have to go through this suffering?" As he fell asleep a vision that just came, that says Hebrew 12:7-8. He was so confused. He didn't think of it too much and just get back to sleep then he woke up and said 'What i got to lose I'd just check it out'. Danny bought him a bible. he opened to the old testament but it wasn't there so he went to the new testament and found it, it says :
He was getting goose bumps all over his body. He said 'this can't be right' what's the chance of someone that has never read the bible and have a vision of a chapter of a specific verse that directly answer his question. And at that point he believed completely and he said 'YOU WIN! YOU WIN'. And from that day on he always believed in god.
From this story you can learn to :
- Trust in the lord your god with all of your heart
- Love and serve others, not just ourselves
- Importantly that it is proven in this story that the bible is a life changing saver and that is why the bible is boss and we have to listen to it and to be willing to obey it and to change us.
