Hearing God's Voice

There are many ways to hear God's voice. These are 4 types of way to learn hearing God's voice - Stillness/Silence,Solitude, Simplicity, and Surrender.

Stillness/Silence

Stillness/silence is like a centered top, spinning quickly that it appears motionless. It appears this way because it is not moving at all, but it is spinning at fast speed. Stillness is not the absence of energy, life, or movement. However, stillness is dynamic and it is an unconflicted movement. Stillness is a higher energy state than what we are used to. This is mostly because people are rarely wholehearted about anything.

Silence challenges us on every level of our being. When we're silent, we have to face ourselves. We might notice our own discomfort and anxiety, and we don't want to do that. We feel if we can just fill up the time, we don't have to face our true selves.

Solitude

Solitude meaning is being alone. Solitude is a powerful spiritual discipline that is often overlook by many Christians especially adults and teens. Between the multitude of church activities, school, and even social networking, taking time out to be by ourselves with the Lord is often one aspect of our faith into practice far less frequently than we should.
The reason solitude is a spiritual discipline is that "alone time" can be often be a more difficult task than we think. It takes effort to be sure you are not disturbed. Solitude is important because it is when we are most by ourselves that we realize God is actually right there with us. Solitude allow us to grow closer to God as we begin to address the things going on in our lives, thoughts, and existence.

Simplicity

Simplicity is a theme in the Christian Religion. God is infinitely simple, according to St. Thomas Aquinas. The Roman Catholic and Anglican religious orders of Franciscans also strive after simplicity.

Surrender

To surrender in religion means that a believer completely gives up on his own will and subjects his thought, ideas, and deeds to the will and teachings of a higher power. Surrender is willful acceptance. In Christianity, the first main principle of surrender is "Dying to self" or "Emptying of self".

This 4 ways will help students hear God's voice in their time of need without stressing.
